Stay *f.a.t. In Moisture Wicking Wear!

You know how strongly we believe in staying up on fitness fashion. So, I uncovered a great article for you gals over at EpicSelf. It covers seven of the activewear trends that every Fit After Thirty woman needs to know about. This article brings up a great point in discussing the new options in antimicrobial wear which keeps a *f.a.t. girl from becoming smelly during her workouts!

Also, in addition to Epic’s suggestions on some moisture wicking clothing options, I’d like to also tell you about one of my favorite workout tops with moisture wicking properties from our friends over at FemmeAthletic. This Tankini is a great option for you women who want to keep their bellies covered during their workout, without having to feel your cold sweat trapped against your bod!

Richard Simmons - Mentally Fit After Thirty?

Is it just me or does Richard Simmons get weirder with each passing year? I’m thinking Macy’s missed the mark on this collaboration. Just a thought.

Fit After Thirty New Top Ten Picks

Since I posted my favorite iPod running tunes list a couple weeks ago, I’ve taken a lot of flack from smart- ass real life friends and *f.a.t. friends who apparently think my selections were dorky, and not at all in line with what they like to exercise to. Who knew it would cause such an impassioned outcry! I would like to respond to some of our reader comments.

Yes, I’m a dork, and I’m okay with it; and I will not succumb to any of your peer pressure to get me to delete Forever In Blue Jeans from my play list. Yes, I like other music than what I posted. Yes I listen to more than ten songs on my iPod when I work out. And to the man in Kansas, yes, I have heard of AC/DC, and no, I don’t plan on adding “Shook Me All Night Long” to my running mix. That is exclusively reserved for my pole dancing mix. (Article on pole dancing coming soon; check back).

And also to the man in Kansas, thank you for the compliment on my Kegel article. I’m glad you liked it. Maybe you can have your wife do some Wild Wandas or Rapid Rhondas as you “shake her all night long” while listening to your favorite tune!

*f.a.t. And Sweaty - The New Sexy!

Great news for *f.a.t. girls who love hair ornamentation as much as I do! After my Sweaty Bands review article, in which I expressed great longing for a Fit After Thirty branded Sweaty Band, our friends at the Sweaty Band company have agreed to create one for us! In the meantime, I want to remind all of you Fit After Thirty Hottys (that’s ALL of you), of the other great  colors and patterns to choose from at SweatyBands.com.

They are the perfect stocking stuffer gift idea, and don’t forget that you can get a 10% discount, by entering the code: fatty when ordering. Remember, Fit After Thirty is where sexy, fun, and fitness collide - and we think Sweaty Bands combine the three of those things perfectly! That’s why we’re such fans, and we know you will be too! Here’s to sweating while looking cute, everyone!

Shall We Dance?

I’m a closet ballerina. The one with no poise or grace, just like Lucy. So I twirl in hiding, and plié when no one is looking. Occasionally, if I have a long wait someplace where I have to stand for an extended period of time, I’ll break out the ol’ tippy toe maneuvers and throw in an attempt at an elegant circular arm gesture which I hijacked straight from the Nutcracker. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve pirouetted my way into the fantasy ballet Hall of Fame, (It’s like the real one, only BETTER). And when I’m certain no eyes are upon me, I’ve been known to attempt a full circle spin on one toe, and blow an imaginary kiss to Baryshnikov. (So what if he retired from dancing years ago; Carrie Bradshaw brought him back to life, and back to my fantasies).
