Fit After Thirty Suggestions For A Fit 2009

You only have a few more days to come up with your resolutions for 2009. We suggest staying Fit After Thirty with some of these commitments in the new year!

Fit After Thirty’s Top 10 Fitness Resolution Ideas

1. Give up looking frumpy when working out. Buy cute and comfortable workout apparel and dress for the activity. Looking good makes you feel good, which invigorates you for a great workout.

2. Make a conscious effort to incorporate stress reduction activities into your lifestyle. A yoga class twice a week, 15 minutes of meditation per day, five minutes of deep breathing morning and night, are ideas on how to start.

3. Train for a 5K or 10K – setting a goal helps motivate you to stick to a workout schedule, and keeps your heart in shape for number 4 on the list.

4. Make passion #1 Priority! Have more romance, kissing, and sex with your significant other! Passion falls by the wayside far too often when two people have been together for awhile. Resolve to not let that happen in 2009! Get creative and spice things up if you have to! Start with your mistletoe kiss and continue the passion through the year! Sex keeps your relationship strong, right along with all your body’s muscles, including your Gynecological Goddesses!

5. Consume more Omega 3 oils – salmon and fish oil pills are great sources. These are great for the heart and overall, have an anti-aging effect. Most people get too many Omega 6 oils in the diet, so it’s not always best to take a pill with both Omega 3 and 6. You might be better off with just Omega 3 additions to your diet to keep them in balance. Food such as flaxseeds, walnuts, olive oil, and soybeans contain it.

6. Donate blood as often as the blood bank allows. It’s a resolution that helps someone else’s health while also helping yours. Doing nice deeds boosts the immune system. And what goes around comes around. Good karma that comes from giving, will benefit your health in the coming year.

7. Get plenty of calcium and Vitamin D – Add a supplement if necessary.

8. Perform weight-bearing exercises at least 4 times per week. This helps keep muscles strong, burn fat, and maintain strong bones.

9. Increase your flexibility – yoga, pilates, or stretching in front of the tv  will keep you limber, which aids in mobility for every activity and helps prevent injuries.

10.  Laugh and make others laugh. Laughter is great for the immune system and your mood, and helps with overall happiness. Being happy helps your health!

Love the picture of granny stretching! Might I suggest including 8 to 10 glasses of purified (not tap and not bottled) water a day. I live by this and can attest to its power. Try it for a month and if you don’t feel a difference I’ll eat my shorts!

great post, keep up the good work

Perilla is a rich source of Omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids, phytochemicals and amino acids. Gram for gram, Cardio Cocktail contains more Omega 3 (alpha-linolenic acid) than flaxseed oil and is also a rich source of Omega 6 (linolenic acid) and Omega 9 (oleic acid).

The only thing that will keep me on my new year’s resolutions is sticking with my personal trainer. With the economy going down and everything I realized that I really have to cut back my costs but the one thing that i refuse to cut back on is my personal trainer Roland. I don’t know if any Torontonians frequent this site, but check out his web page, I’ve posted his URL. For once I feel that I can actually keep a resolution.

Love the pic of the granny stretching too!

[...] ASICS is an acronym for the latin phrase: Anima Sana In Corpore Sano, which means, “a sound mind in a sound body.” Since we talk a lot about being Fit After Thirty in mind and body, I thought it would be appropriate to suggest two ASICS apparel items that will help you start checking off items on your *f.a.t. Fitness Resolutions list!  [...]
