But Skip Loses Out On His Favorite Pass Time. Sorry, Skip.

I’m Too Sexy For My Water Bottle

I’m getting ready to start a trend. It’s called water bottle as fashion accessory. I figure we match our purses to our outfits, so why not our beverage bottle to our sports clothes, office attire, and beachwear? I think I’m onto something because water bottles are already so popular a trend in and of themselves that they made #76 on Stuff White People Like. I really think using them as a fashion accessory could be a nice evolution of our love of water bottles. It could be the next true measurement of chic!  Besides, isn’t it time for those boring, clear and blue plastic things to go the way of teased bangs, and ripped collar-sweatshirts?

Ho Ho Ho

So, if you want to join me in the water bottle as fashion accessory revolution, I have a product to turn you on to! You can  add this to your list of stocking stuffers you need to buy for your *f.a.t. sister-friends! Hell, while I’m tying Christmas into the mix, might I suggest hanging these beauties on your tree as ornaments, because these ecoUsable stainless steel bottles will shine! Is it immature of me to love an ecologically minded product because of it’s fun and bright colors, first, and for it’s environmentally conscious purpose and utility, second? So be it; I’m immature.

I discovered ecoUsable bottles recently and am hooked - literally and figuratively - because all their bottles have convenient carabiner-like hooks on the lids for easy attachment to gym bags, hiking packs, belt loops, and the aforementioned Christmas tree. (Actually, I’m thinking of taking the fashion idea one step further and asking for the company to create mini-versions for dangling earrings.) What?? They could serve as a reserve tank when my 16 ouncer is on E.

Sip On This

The company has thought of everything in terms of size and variety. In addition to 16 oz., they also come in 25 oz, and 33 oz., as well as cute little 10oz ones that are perfect for kids or carrying in your purse for yourself. (My friend has a few for her kids and says they are easy for them to hold.)  They range from $12.00-$17.00 depending on size and you can also get sport caps to change out with the regular lids for ease of drinking during sporting activities, or while driving.

Speaking of driving, they are also perfect for taking in the car. In fact, because hot plastic bottles leach even more chemicals into the water, I’d say ecoUsables should be a must have for your summer car rides. I rode around with one today, and it fits easily in the car drink holder.

Their Filtration bottle ($44.95) is pretty much the coolest eco-friendly thing I’ve heard of in a long time. It actually allows you to grab tap water on the go, without the contamination concerns you might ordinarily have. It uses patented-Ionic-Absorption Micro-filtration in the ech2o sport top, which eliminates 99.99% of contaminants. This is pretty high tech! All of them are easy to clean and do not cause weird tasting water!

Dribble Drabble And Skip-alicious

Other reasons I love my ecoSuzables, as I like to call them, is because:

1. I can make a rhyming play on my name with them, and I’m narcissistic, so I love that.

2. Gone are the days of cracking open a new plastic bottle and in so doing, squeezing too hard with my other hand, causing water to spill all over my silk blouse making it look like I’m lactating (and late for baby’s feeding) when I don’t even have a baby, let alone the nectar she craves.

3. If one were to work in an office with a nerdy guy named Skip, who uses empty plastic bottles as finger puppets, noisemakers to blow into, (favorite noise being fog horn), and message bottles to pass notes in from cubicle to cubicle, then that issue is finally laid to rest, because people keep their mitts off other people’s reusable bottles!

Go Greenie, Genie

The landfills are drowning in single-use plastic bottles. Industrial chemical plants are killing kids. Plastic is unhealthy to drink out of. The cost savings of re-usable bottles is huge. What are you waiting for? ecoUsables.

I think that is an interesting point, it made me think a bit. Thanks for sparking my thinking cap. Sometimes I get so much in a rut that I just feel like a record.
