Since I posted my favorite iPod running tunes list a couple weeks ago, I’ve taken a lot of flack from smart- ass real life friends and *f.a.t. friends who apparently think my selections were dorky, and not at all in line with what they like to exercise to. Who knew it would cause such an impassioned outcry! I would like to respond to some of our reader comments.
Yes, I’m a dork, and I’m okay with it; and I will not succumb to any of your peer pressure to get me to delete Forever In Blue Jeans from my play list. Yes, I like other music than what I posted. Yes I listen to more than ten songs on my iPod when I work out. And to the man in Kansas, yes, I have heard of AC/DC, and no, I don’t plan on adding “Shook Me All Night Long” to my running mix. That is exclusively reserved for my pole dancing mix. (Article on pole dancing coming soon; check back).
And also to the man in Kansas, thank you for the compliment on my Kegel article. I’m glad you liked it. Maybe you can have your wife do some Wild Wandas or Rapid Rhondas as you “shake her all night long” while listening to your favorite tune!
Because it was so much fun to get everyone’s opinions on their iPod favs, we are having a contest. Send us an email with your top five favorite workout tunes that you think will get me the most pumped up during my cardio routine, and I will choose the song list selection I like the most in my New Year’s Day post, and the winner will receive a free iPod Shuffle. It can only be five songs! Please put Playlist in the subject line, and be sure to include your email, name, and contact information in the body of the email.
To get you inspired, Michelle is sharing her list of ten favorites today. (But you only send FIVE!) Michelle requests that you do not badger her or criticize her musical taste, as she’s already taken enough abuse from me on numbers 9 and 10, to last a lifetime. Read: She’s a little more sensitive than I am. Shhh. Don’t tell her I said that.
1. U2 - Beautiful Day
2. Abba - Dancing Queen (she must have been inspired by my Barre article)
3. Riahnna - Under my umbrella
4. PussyCat Dolls - Losen up your buttons
5. Daft Punk - One More Time
6. Madonna - Vogue
7. Matt Nathanson - Come On Get Higher
8. Jack Johnson - Bubble Toes
