If you are one of the millions of single women bemoaning the fact that you don’t have a Valentine this year, it’s time to look on the bright side. Here are the top ten reasons to be grateful that you don’t.
1. You don’t have to buy the obligatory silk boxers with hearts on them, that no man is really that fond of anyway.
3. You can avoid having to pretend that you don’t know that he re-gifted something his mother sent him.
4. You won’t have to spend the next month starving yourself to lose the weight you gained by eating the entire box of chocolates he gave you.
5. You don’t have to come up with creative ways to hint to your man which romantic gift you are expecting him to buy you.
6. When the flower bouquet arrives at the office, and all the women scurry to see who they are for, you don’t have to be one of the 99% who are disappointed to find out your name is not on the card, because you already know they won’t be for you.
7. Watching The Charlie Brown Valentine’s special is that much more meaningful because you can relate to Chuck’s aching heart as he pines over the object of his desire (the little red haired girl.)
8. You don’t have to worry about spending the extra money on salon treatments to make yourself beautiful for the big Valentine’s date.
9. You will get to avoid the disappointment that every woman feels when she realizes she isn’t dating a man with the romance skills of Romeo, but instead she’s dating one of The Three Stooges: Larry Curly or Mo.
10. You can avoid encountering any of these situations, which could make you wish you were single anyway.
Bonus Reason:
It’s one night when you can curl up on the couch with wine and a bunch of romantic chick flicks without catching flack from anyone! My fifteen favs:
1. Serendipity 2. The Notebook 3. P.S. I Love You 4. Kate and Leopold 5. Say Anything 6. Like Water For Chocolate 7. Far And Away 8. Sleepless in Seattle 9. When Harry Met Sally 10. What Women Want 11. As Good As It Gets 12. Something’s Gotta Give 13. Sex and the City: The Movie 14. Runaway Bride 15. Shakespeare in Love

I love Kate and Leopold, even though I’m a guy. serendipity, the notebook and what women want are pretty good too.
